Courtoline Presentation

So after all the hard work of the game presentation I couldn't make it in too class that day due to some bad circumstances. However Coral my partner saved the day and presented on her own. Thanks Coral! so here is the link to the prezi that may help you understand 'The Courtoline' a bit more

We also have some footage of us interviewing students on their verdict of our new game. However we have some technical issues with the footage but it will be with you soon!

People On The Move

After all the blood sweat and tears, yes we finally finished our Production!
At the time of filming I had felt we may be rushing due to the short deadline but I couldn't believe how well it turned out, I was really pleased with the final cut.
So our plot was a boy playing a number of girls and just being a cocky arrogant man while he does this and the part was played by the one and only Josh McDowell who was amazing! We have a rising star in the mitz guys!
He portrayed the character exactly how we all wanted. He had the cheeky smiles and winks and the cockiness we needed to make this production brilliant. Watching this Short clip and comparing it to me earlier work at A- level i can tell i have most defiantly learned a lot within the last few months in MPS. Even watching all the other production i could describe the shots such as an establishing shot, wide shot, long shot etc. Feel so much more confident with film making and home to produce some more pieces as the process was so enjoyable .

Trampoline Court or The Courtoline!

So following up from one of my recent posts 'Games' my partner and I come up with the concept of combining trampolines with sports such as Tennis, basketball, football, Netball and much more. We thought it could bring so much more enjoyment to sport and more exersize for all. Just a little interesting fact: I've heard that 10 minutes on a trampoline is a better workout that at 20 minute run.
So the picture shows us teh dynamics and layout of the Courtoline. We have adustable and optinnets so you can play a number of sports in the one court. It has the layout of a normal court just with trampoline for extra fun ! :D
We have also discussed the Health and safety aspects and there must be padded floors and walls and all players must wear the coreect safety gear For example: Helemts, Elbow pads, Knee Pads etc

I'll keep you posted on an extra features we add to your game! :)

Lego!!

On Thursday we had a workshop on Lego. I found it really good as I learnt how Lego is used within business as starting point for ideas and conversation and without thinking about it I was actually portraying my personality in my work. At the beginning we were asked to build a tower so that's exactly what we did but as the lecturer questioned me more and more about my tower I could see what they meant when they said it was a starting point for ideas and conversation. I really enjoyed the class and what we all had produced but i found it frustrating getting them into some sort of order! However we eventually got it sorted !

Games!

So Today in class we played some games. Seems like were dossing but this is research into our next project. We got to play the wii, the Xbox and some other games that were quite retro. First of all we attempted the game 'Carccassone'  and yes the name of the game is as complicated as the actually game! The instructions were extremly long and complicated process so we decided to give up. This indicates that our minds will not stand for these complications and this is why we enjoy self explanitary games or trial and error games such as the xbox as we keep going until we develop the skill. The next game we played was the post it game, this is where we write names on ost its and stick them to each others head and guess who we have stuck on our head. I really enjoyed it as its fun and you can keep changing the names. But maybe after around 4 rounds it woudl get a little boring but i really enjoyed it as your mind is always thinking !
So now our new project is to Create a new game thaht we can play within the screen school. So ill keep you updated :D

The Automatic

So Today we were told we were going to the automatic to have a class and after a LONG walk through the crazy corridors of the screen school we eventualy made it there. To my shock it walked into to a room full of comfy sofas, Lego, plants, huge screens and even a drum set. I was quite tehran amused little student. Well anyway we went on to begin the class which was about us being creative and I myself do not think of myself as a creative person, id say im more practical. however today I actually couldnt believe the ideas in was coming up with! Our groups made up many ideas that I won't get into due to the fact we all got a little out of hand with some of them. I have to say im feeling so much more confidence about my creativity or right brian thinking.
I am Loving this image!
Problems ?

OK so I was having a few problems with the whole blogger there for the last few weeks. However not to worry as I have all my blogs saved on my computer and will be uploading them soon, although they may not be in order.

Thanks guys  : D
Mobjects

Ok so the title of our project was 'Mobjects' we forgot to explain the title when we were presenting so I thought i'd explain it now as the class were probably thinking what does that mean. Well our task for the class was to bring in objects that are meaningful for me, so we combined the words meaningful and objects together to get mobjects. :)

So since all my meaningful objects are back home in Ireland i just used my tattoo. I explained what it meant to me even though its a dreadful tattoo and I don't even remember getting it what I do remember the good memories I had with my best friends on our last holiday together before we went our separate ways. We all got tattoos so it connects me to them even though there not with me :)

To present our objects we used Prezi, which I found to be extremely difficult to use at the beginning, we had our Prezi upside down at one stage! I'm hoping the next time I use it I will be able to handle it a bit better. I really like how the presentation turned out as it was more interesting to listen to rather than mundane slide shows.

So why Media ?
My interest for media began as an early teenager when I got my first digital camera, I received it for Christmas I remember it so well as it was the vibrant colour of orange or as I called it 'ginger'. From then I developed an obsession with taking photographs anytime and anywhere I could. With this I decided to take on the subject as an A-level to widen my horizons, little did i know it would open my eyes to the entire media industry where my obsession moved from not just photography but production, radio, television and editing.
For my AS level my grade was based on a small 3 minute film trailer which was extremely satisfying as I felt this was for me as soon as I held that camera. Although I loved the directing I also was involved within the acting process where I was not only behind the camera I was in front of it. I then learnt to appreciate a lot of media texts as for me a 3 minute film trailer was a lot of work! I couldn't begin to imagine what a full film entails this is when my respect grew greatly for film producers and directors therefore I began to follow certain directors and my interest grew even more.

Throughout the course I became so much more aware of the industry and became very critical to anything I watched seen or heard, this was the real deal for me at this stage I realised that this is definitely what I wanted to do in life as watching certain media text there was things i wanted to tweak or fix and for me it was almost frustrating to watch as I felt I could of produced or thought of a better idea.

Another sign that i was destined for the media industry was when I got a job doing a small bit of acting within a music video, throughout I became intrigued with the role behind the camera I was fasinated by how the director Glen Gallagher set up the scenes and made them perfect through lighting, different camera angles, set managment and different camera lenses. I spent more time questioning him about his work rather than the acting. Here is where I really experienced what its like within the media industry and I loved it, I seen his story board before we started shooting and then to watch his ideas come to life was so rewarding. This is when i knew that i wanted my ideas to come to life.

This is one of the still shots from the music video, I thought he captured the lighting and the lead character so well.
