So why Media ?
My interest for media began as an early teenager when I got my first digital camera, I received it for Christmas I remember it so well as it was the vibrant colour of orange or as I called it 'ginger'. From then I developed an obsession with taking photographs anytime and anywhere I could. With this I decided to take on the subject as an A-level to widen my horizons, little did i know it would open my eyes to the entire media industry where my obsession moved from not just photography but production, radio, television and editing.
For my AS level my grade was based on a small 3 minute film trailer which was extremely satisfying as I felt this was for me as soon as I held that camera. Although I loved the directing I also was involved within the acting process where I was not only behind the camera I was in front of it. I then learnt to appreciate a lot of media texts as for me a 3 minute film trailer was a lot of work! I couldn't begin to imagine what a full film entails this is when my respect grew greatly for film producers and directors therefore I began to follow certain directors and my interest grew even more.

Throughout the course I became so much more aware of the industry and became very critical to anything I watched seen or heard, this was the real deal for me at this stage I realised that this is definitely what I wanted to do in life as watching certain media text there was things i wanted to tweak or fix and for me it was almost frustrating to watch as I felt I could of produced or thought of a better idea.

Another sign that i was destined for the media industry was when I got a job doing a small bit of acting within a music video, throughout I became intrigued with the role behind the camera I was fasinated by how the director Glen Gallagher set up the scenes and made them perfect through lighting, different camera angles, set managment and different camera lenses. I spent more time questioning him about his work rather than the acting. Here is where I really experienced what its like within the media industry and I loved it, I seen his story board before we started shooting and then to watch his ideas come to life was so rewarding. This is when i knew that i wanted my ideas to come to life.

This is one of the still shots from the music video, I thought he captured the lighting and the lead character so well.
